On the 1st June 2007, the European chemical regulation, REACH, came into force across Europe. The legislation works on the principle that all of the manufacturers, importers and downstream users within the supply chain are responsibility for the safe use and handling of chemicals.

Si Laboratories Ltd, as a supplier of coatings, recognises the role that we have under REACH as a downstream user. We recognise that the regulation places a heavy burden of communication within the supply chain and poses a threat to any business operating within the European Union.

In response to our obligations under the regulation and enquiries from our customers, Si Laboratories can confirm the following:

• Our suppliers have confirmed that the substances supplied, and/or all of their components where applicable will be pre-registered between 01 June and 30 November 2008.
  
  
• Where our supplier has confirmed that a material is exempt from registration we have received assurances of the suppliers intent to fully comply with REACH.
  
  
• Material Safety Data Sheets (MSDS) will be issued to include the information requirements of REACH.
  
  
• Si Laboratories does not use any of the substances listed as SVHC (substances of very high concern) by the ECHA.
  
  
• Compliance with REACH is an integral part of our business at Si Laboratories. We will work closely with our customers to ensure a sustained supply of products and to develop the future generation of coating solutions.
